Branching Out

November 2024

It's been a wild ride over the last few weeks in the craft room. I was working away on some hats when I got an email from a local store called Kaleidoscope that I had reached out to a few months ago. It is a creative community where you apply to have your products stocked in a retail setting and they give you support to help you grow your creative business. Anyway it had been a while since I'd put in the application so I had kind of assumed they weren't interested, but I assumed wrong! The manager Emma asked me to take in some samples of my creations and next thing I knew I was all signed up and feverishly making as many things as I could to fill up my little section of the store. There were a few days that Joe had to go without walkies, not much housework got done and one or two times when the husband came home and wondered why I was sitting at my machine in my PJ'S in the middle of the afternoon.

But I think it was worth it.

It's now been 1 week since my things first went on display and I'm beyond thrilled to say that I have sold quite a few pieces. And I am not the only one who is thrilled; Miss Mabel the Mannequin has gone on a little vacation to the store to help show off some of the products and she is loving the attention!
